A credit-check tool built for the people who pre-screen borrowers
Overview
What this is
A Laravel platform that lets loan agents and DSAs pull a credit report on a prospective borrower in minutes, with an agent side, an admin side, and a set of free tools around it. Built and maintained end to end, including the report PDF the agent actually hands over.
Approach
How we thought about it
Everything about this product is decided by where it gets used. A loan agent is on a phone, often sitting in front of the customer, and needs an answer before the conversation moves on. So the report had to work on a small screen, the PDF had to be something they could send without reformatting, and the whole thing had to be installable like an app rather than a page they bookmark. The free tools around the paid report — the calculators, the document lookups — exist for the same reason: they are what gives an agent a reason to open it on a day they are not buying anything.
KredReport is a lookup service for agents, not a credit information company, and the product says so itself. We build and run the platform; the credit data comes from licensed providers under the client's own agreements.
Scope
What we built
- Agent side: look up a borrower, read the report on a phone, download or share it
- Admin side for accounts, usage and the reports that have been pulled
- Report PDF generated by us rather than bought in, so its layout and page breaks are ours to fix
- Installable as an app, with offline handling and a working install prompt
- Free tools alongside the paid report — EMI and income tax calculators, a bank statement analyser, document lookups
- Front end rebuilt to be readable on the phone the work actually happens on
